    Metrolink Joins Over 100 Transit Agencies Nationwide in Health & Safety Pledge

    Metrolink, Southern California’s passenger train service, today joined more than 100 transportation agencies from across the nation in a pledge to take the necessary steps to keep riders and employees safe from the spread of COVID-19. A part of the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) national Health and Safety Commitments (HSC) Program, the pledge – and its participants – were announced at a virtual event earlier today.

    Metrolink Restores Service of Two Ventura County Line Trains Beginning Tuesday, September 8

    As traffic on the freeways serving the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County returns to pre-COVID levels, Metrolink is reinstating two morning trains to serve people who live and/or work in this area. Starting Tuesday, September 8, Ventura County Line trains 101 and 110 will return to Metrolink’s schedule to serve stations connecting Los Angeles to Glendale, Burbank, Northridge, Van Nuys, Chatsworth, Simi Valley and Moorpark.

    Metrolink Tier 4 Locomotive Project Receives Environmental Certification

    Southern California can expect an economic jolt of 1.3 million jobs and an increase to the gross regional product of almost $684 billion through 2050 as the result of Metrolink’s Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion (SCORE) Program, according to a new Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) study. LAEDC presented the findings at a meeting of the Metrolink Board of Directors today.

    Metrolink, Southern California’s passenger rail service, today introduced the 5-Day Flex Pass, a new fare solution that responds to changes in workers’ commuting patterns post COVID-19. Ideal for workers who need to get to their workplaces less frequently than the traditional daily commute, the 5-Day Flex Pass provides the convenience of five one-day passes customers can use whenever they need to travel, over 30-days and at a 10% discount.

    New Customer Survey Highlights Importance of Metrolink Service During Stay-at-Home; Future Rider Expectations

    Seven of every ten riders still taking Metrolink while stay-at-home orders are in place identify themselves as “Essential Workers”, according to the results of the COVID-19 Customer Survey released today by Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail service. More than one half of these respondents either work in Healthcare (39%) or Transportation/Logistics (14%), and nearly one-third (32%) have no vehicle and rely on Metrolink to get to their jobs.
